Happy Bhag Jayegi is a solid comedy that highlights India-Pakistan relations in a fun way. It is a non-stop entertainment ride, one that requires a suspension of disbelief on its part. It is a great comedy from director Aanand L Rai, but unfortunately, it doesn’t work for everyone. I hope you’ll give Happy Bhag Jayegi a chance! Please leave a review for the movie, and I hope you enjoy it!
The premise of the film is ripe for comedy, and it comes fast in the first half of the movie. Happy is in no mood to return to India, and the situation spirals out of control. Then we have Bagga, who is mad at Guddu for standing him up, and a young boy called Bilal who is being groomed to be “the next Jinnah”.
While Happy Bhag Jayegi may not have as many plot points as its predecessor, it does offer some entertainment value. Mudassar Aziz has done a great job in bringing the comedy elements of Happy into this film, but it is still far from perfect. Aziz has a good grasp of language and country, and his dialogues are often entertaining and heart-warming. But there are some problems, and Happy Bhag Jayegi is no exception.
Happy isn’t perfect. Its story is largely silly and repetitive. The heroine is also tiresome. The comedy is mostly predictable and lacking in gags. I would recommend Happy Part 2 for anyone who enjoyed the film’s premise. It’s not a flop, but it should be seen for what it is. It’s a must-see if you’re a fan of the actress.
There are a few characters that may annoy you. While Diana Penty is a charming, albeit flawed character, she plays the tough-nut daughter of a Lahore businessman. She gives her would-be husband no quarter. Bilal Ahmed, meanwhile, is a confused bloke who blames his father for pushing him into politics. In the end, he ends up helping Bilal find a happy ending.
